This breathtaking coffee table book brings together the most outstanding images of New York, captured by a wide variety of photographers, each with their own style and individual perspective on the city. The result is a comprehensive, unique portrait of the Big Apple spanning several decades. The book is introduced by a brief text about New York and life there, and each chapter is dedicated to a photographer and includes a short biography along with a series of images.

The photographers featured lived in the city at different times, each with a different background and an individual style of visual language. The unique black and white photographs by photographic icon Elliott Erwitt meet impressive contemporary testimonies by the well-known photojournalist Thomas Hoepker. Atmospheric imagery by bad weather photographer Christophe Jacrot is juxtaposed with Alan Schaller's unusual cityscapes that play with light and shadow.
