Ferrari

80 Years of Ferrari is not “just another Ferrari book”, but one that does not yet exist: a visually driven homage to Ferrari’s unique history in endurance racing. The book traces the evolution of Ferrari in the world’s most demanding long-distance events. Beginning with the brand’s first racing successes in 1947, it leads through legendary classics such as Mille Miglia, Targa Florio, the 1,000 km Nürburgring, the 12 Hours of Sebring, the 24 Hours of Daytona, the 1,000 km Monza, Kyalami and, of course, the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The narrative builds up to Ferrari’s spectacular recent overall victories at Le Mans and the renewed spotlight on endurance racing. Each chapter is structured around a specific race or series. Short introductions outline the history and character of the event, accompanied by historic black-and-white photographs and brisk, atmospheric texts. The core of the book is formed by large-format colour images by celebrated photographer Günther Raupp, presenting Ferrari sports and racing cars in an unprecedented visual intensity – from early icons such as the 166 MM to the latest Le Mans prototypes. The result is a highly graphic, immersive panorama that appeals to Ferrari devotees, motorsport enthusiasts, collectors and design-conscious readers alike. It captures not only victories and famous cars, but also mood, light and atmosphere at the circuits that made Ferrari a legend.
